Increasing numbers of people are enjoying group functions at PLATO in our Billiards Room. This large, high-ceilinged, parquet-floored room was once the sailors’ dance hall. Now it features a full-sized billiards table and an alcove with couches and open fireplace. The room can seat up to 30 people (smaller option) or 80 people (at its full extent).
The Billiards Room is ideal for group dinners, work or professional gatherings, committee meetings, weddings and birthday parties, even one-off events such as fashion shows or PLATO’s own opera nights! In here our staff offer full table and bar service, meals being introduced via a servery which doubles as a mural painted by inimitable local artist Janet de Wagt.
Most groups who are dining opt for one of our set menus (see our menus page) but we also cater for many after-five, finger food events in the Billiards Room with personalized menus to suit your tastes and budget.
Patrons are welcome to bring along their own choice of music via iPod, or enjoy our own eclectic selection.
